STURMOOR GOD OF THE SKY
(APOLLO)

Apollo aged 18 months, on the day he was returned to us at Sturtmoor (October 2025).
We are currently looking for a new home for Apollo, as he won't tolerate his brother (Gunna).  He can, however, stay as long as required before a new, suitable, home is found.

Apollo has been returned to us by his original owners.  He is a young, extremely energetic, male who has specific needs.
Due to him having been attacked at a very young age, he is now quite reactive with other dogs, particularly when there are multiple dogs involved and only when out in public.  At home, he has mixed with my own dogs with no issues, except one.  He is not tolerant of un-neutered males.  Apollo is a very sweet, loving boy, who has lacked the required training to help him with his issues.

Apollo needs to have room to run, as he has a lot of energy.  He would enjoy long walks, in isolated areas (away from other dogs).  He has met a cat, but the relationship did not go well, he has not lived with any other animals.  He is ok around livestock as long as on lead.  He has recall, but this is not reliable, he is trained for sit/down/wait and will go to bed in his crate/pen and stay there until released (even with the door open!).  He does tend to pace in the house when his energy is not used up, he loves to play with toys and loves to play with his doggy friends (better with females than males!).  He is eating well here but still needs to put a little weight on which we are working on.

We feel that he has two types of home that would suit him best:
  1. A home where he would live on this own, or with one or more neutered females.  This home would need to have space for him to run at home or be prepared to take him for walks away from other dogs (in isolated areas).
  2. A home with an experienced dog trainer, who has the time and patience to work with Apollo to de-sensitize him around other dogs and try to get him so he is able to be around other dogs without reacting in such a bad way.

If you think you can provide what Apollo needs, and are willing to give a home to a very handsome young Buhund male, then please get in touch with us via the Contact page.  There will be a Re-homing contract and a minimum of one month's trial to ensure he is happy.

NO TIME WASTERS PLEASE!!
